Center for Spatial Data and Research Applications (CSDRA)

return to previous page

The Center for Spatial Data Research and applications (CSDRA) was created as a Geographical Information System (GIS) and remote sensing (RS) laboratory. CSDRA's initial foci were to develop GIS/RS technologies at JSU, train students, faculty, and staff in the operations and applications of GIS/RS and begin preliminary research.
In 1995, CSDRA entered into NASA's Community College Initiative (CCI) program with an objective to provide faculty enhancement and curriculum enrichment through use of "earth observations" data in community college classrooms.
