Education: BS in Aeronautical Engineering from the Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey, in 1989;
Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics from the University of Minnesota in 1994

Research Interests: Dr. Aliabadi's areas of expertise are high performance computing, computational aerodynamics, free-Surface flows, dispersion of chemical and biological agents, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), parallel processing (PP), finite element method (FEM), finite volume method (FVM), mesh generation and flow visualization

Dr. Aliabadi has more than 120 publications and recipient of numerous awards and recognitions. He is well known both nationally and internationally for his contributions in large-scale simulation of flow applications
