High Performance Computing Visualization Initiative (HPCVI)

Jackson State University (JSU) and its academic partners - the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) and Mississippi State University (MSU), along with the Engineer Research and Development Center/Information Technology Laboratory have agreed to collaborate in this initiative. This initiative creates the infrastructure for "...a center without walls, in which the researchers can perform their research without regard to geographical location, interaction with colleagues, accessing instrumentation, sharing data and computational resources, and accessing information in digital libraries.

The focus areas are:

•Architectures, Infrastructure, and Methodologies for Advanced Computation Environments and Management/Analysis of Distributed Data;

•Domain-Specific Data Analysis, Computation and Modeling;

•Human Factors and Usability Issues in Computation- and Data-Rich Environments

•Distance Education/Training (www.dclab.jsums.edu)

•Meteorology Visualization (http://weather.jsums.edu)

•Computational Chemistry (http://ccmsi.us/nvscc)

•Network Storage Management and Shared File Systems Capabilities (www.dclab.jsums.edu/nsm)

-Liquefication at Depth Visualization

•Sci-Viz' Laboratory (http://raven.jsums.edu/' visweb)
