Housing
http://www.jsums.edu/housing
The
housing application inquires as to whether the applicant has "special
needs". If the answer is affirmative, the student is identified
in the Housing Module (computerized system) as having a disability.
Based upon this information, a decision is made regarding which
residence hall and room to assign the student. Specific rooms in
the majority of residence halls have been earmarked for special
needs students. All residential students are asked to report special
health needs (e.g. medication, illnesses, etc.) during the check-in
process on a "Special Health Needs" form.

Student
Health Center
http://www.jsums.edu/~studentlife/health
The
Student Health Center makes efforts to meet the special needs of
students who are disabled, or physically challenged and encourages
faculty, staff, and other students to develop their awareness, sensitivity
and the special needs of the disabled. Students who are disabled
or physical challenged are identified as soon as possible following
admission so that special efforts can be made to meet their individual
needs. Students with chronic health conditions, such as diabetes,
epilepsy, and pulmonary or chronic cardiovascular diseases, are
identified and informed to come in for follow-up(s). Students with
special health risks are identified from information provided on
health history assessment forms or referrals from directors of resident
halls and other staff members.
