Congratulations Dr. Earlexia Norwood!

On September 26, 2014, Earlexia Norwood, M.D., Director of Practice Development and Director of Community Health Education at the West Bloomfield Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, will receive the Hall of Fame's 2014 Legacy of Leaders Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award from the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc. The Jackson State University alum is also Director of Practice Development at West Bloomfield Hospital, which is part of the Henry Ford Health System (HFHS) in Detroit, Michigan.

A member of the Board of Governors of the HFHS, Dr. Norwood is the inaugural president of the Organization of Physicians, Academicians, and Executive Leaders (OPAL). Dr. Norwood is one of six HBCU alumni leaders and chapters who  will be  honored  during ceremonies at the Third Annual Legacy of Leaders Alumni Awards Luncheon to be held at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Awards Luncheon is one of numerous activities being held during the 29th Annual Alumni Hall of Fame Weekend.  Other activities include the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, the Competition of Black College Queens, the HBCU Invitational Golf Tournament, as well as numerous workshops and forums, including the Andrew Young Emerging Leaders Legacy Lecture Series.
