JSU President Meyers appoints search committee for VP for Research and Federal Relations

Jackson State University President Carolyn W. Meyers has appointed a search committee to fill the position of Vice President for Research and Federal Relations. Dr. Richard Aló, dean of the College of Science, Engineering and Technology, has been named chair of the committee.

The committee will work with the consulting firm Ayers and Associates to conduct a national search to attract the best and most experienced talent in research leadership and administration.

“This is a critical position in many respects,” Meyers said. “Among those are the continued designation and distinction of Jackson State University as a research intensive institution, the success of our faculty in meeting the expectations of faculty everywhere in teaching, research and service, and the enabling of the continued contributions of our talent to the health and well being of the city, state, nation and world.”

The search committee members include: Kamal Ali (College of Science, Engineering and Technology), Russell Bennett (College of Public Service), Marino Bruce (College of Liberal Arts), Edna Caston (Division of Undergraduate Studies), Craig Cassidy (College of Science, Engineering and Technology), Fidel Ezeala-Harrison (College of Business), Lennie Little (College of Education and Human Development), CoSandra McNeal (Faculty Senate), Loretta Moore (JSU ADVANCE and Division of Research), Terry Woodard (JSU National Alumni Association) and Jeffrey Zubkowski (Division of Graduate Studies).
