SBDC Services
The JSU/SBDC provides
a variety of services including one-on-one counseling training and
education, procurement assistance, start-up assistance, loan packaging,
marketing research and small business advocacy. The areas served by
the JSU/SBDC include the greater Metro-Jackson, MS, Attala, Holmes,
Yazoo, and Madison counties. The Center has received state and national
recognition as a “Star Performing” SBDC.
One-On-One Counseling
The JSU/SBDC provides business counseling to small business owners.
This service is provided free of charge in a professional and confidential
manner. The counseling is comprehensive and provided by trained and
certified business professionals. The Center counsels over 600 clients
a year.
Loan Packaging
One problem facing most small business is inadequate financing. The
JSU/SBDC assist small businesses in obtaining loans from a variety
of commercial lenders. We help in the development of business plans
and cash flow projections that are needed to obtain a loan from any
financial institution. The Center has assisted business owners in
obtaining approximately $10 million dollars in Loans and Capital
over the past five years.
Business Seminars and
Workshops
The JSU/SBDC offers an ever increasing array of seminars and workshops
on a variety of business topics. Presenters are the JSU/SBDC staff;
however, the Center utilizes local attorneys, Certified Public Accountants,
Internal Revenue Agents, marketing firms and many others as resource
partners and presenters for seminars. Most seminars are provided
free of charge and are held throughout our service area. Click Here
