Tom Stiehle

Tom Stiehle is the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Business Management, for the Ingalls Shipbuilding Division of Huntington Ingalls Industries. In this role, he is responsible for all financial, contracts, estimating and pricing, and business management functions across the division.  Additionally, he also serves as Ingalls’ Chief Information Officer, responsible for Information Technology functions and department management.

 Before being selected for this position, Tom served as Vice President, Contracts and Pricing for Ingalls from 2011 to 2012.  Prior to joining Huntington Ingalls Industries in 2011, Tom worked for Northrop Grumman Corporation for 24 years. 

Tom began his career with the Grumman Aircraft Corp. in 1987 in design engineering where he worked on the F-14 and A-6 programs.  In 1989, he transitioned into Product Operations, developing technical proposals for both new business and on-going Navy programs.  In 1994, Tom joined the Joint STARS program within the Contracts and Pricing Department.  He held positions of increasing responsibility within the business organization from Supervisor of Contracts Administration, Contracts and Pricing Manager, Business Manager and Director of Business Management, overseeing all production business operations, fiscal acquisitions, ECPs, contract execution and administration, which entailed nine Air Force production contracts valued at more than $3 billion.

Tom received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Hofstra University in 1987.  He also earned an MBA from Adelphi University and a master’s degree in acquisition and contract management from Florida Institute of Technology.

•      Executive Sponsor of Ingalls African American Shipbuilders Association Employee Resource Group, 2014-Present

•      Habitat for Humanity volunteer
