   Evaluation, Research
and Collaboration

The Research and Development unit works to evaluate and communicate the impact of the programs and services offered by the college. In order to provide the best services and programs for our student population, we constantly engage in assessment and evaluative research to determine student needs. Various assessment instruments are used to gather information from students and others served regarding the quality of our programs, services, and staff. Our assessment and evaluation efforts are critical for the continuous improvement of both the academic, support, and development programs provided by the college.

Our research efforts also serve as a foundation to improving services offered to non-traditional and/or adult learners. We have collaborated on a national study of non-traditional students and look to continue our research in this arena. The College’s line of research focuses on the adult or non-traditional learners. We are interested in all areas and domains that impact the outcomes of adult learners. As this population continues to increase at college campuses, it is vitally important to become aware of their needs and challenges in order to better serve them. Additionally, collaboration in empirical research helps to guide future plans for the programs we offer.
