The College of Lifelong Learning at Jackson State University extends an invitation for you to become
one of our sponsors for the Spirit of Safety (S.O.S.) Conference, to be held November 10-12, 2008,
at the Hilton Hotel & Convention Center in Jackson, MS. The purpose of this national conference is
to promote a violence free environment for students in primary and secondary schools, colleges, and
universities. The conference objective is to share with educators and other professionals connected
with schools, colleges, and universities practical ideas and research-based strategies through three
conference strands: (1) School Violence and Crisis Prevention (2) School Violence and Crisis
Intervention and (3) School Violence and Crisis Supervention. We anticipate approximately 450
participants for this event.

This conference is for teachers; counselors; paraprofessionals; school administrators; school security
officers; law enforcement personnel; youth service providers; social workers; emergency manage-
ment personnel; government officials; and higher education faculty, administrators, and safety
personnel. We appreciate any support you can offer. Your support and contribution will add to the
quality of our program, speakers, and materials.
