Synergistic Activities

As a member of the team, Dr. Skelton developed a graduate curriculum for the Masters of Engineering program at Jackson State University during the Fall Semester, 2004. In addition, while teaching at the Jackson Graduate Engineering Program, he developed a course on Wireless Application Development for the University of Mississippi.

Dr. Skelton developed and offered a tutorial on wireless application development at The 33rd Technical Symposium for Computer Science Education. Furthermore, this course work was the genesis for the publication of two books on the subject. Currently, he is working on a research contract, funded by the Department of Defense, which utilizes input from diverse data sources, including wireless sensor networks, as input into a decision-making engine. He is also involved in research on intelligent decision-making for urban search and rescue for the Department of Homeland Security.

During his years of teaching, Dr. Skelton has been actively involved in the development of several undergraduate courses and laboratory materials which included embedded microprocessor development, embedded programming, C/C++ programming, and computer networking courses.
