Engineering/High Performance Computing

   

Jackson State University has leadership roles in several major national computing, communication, and collaboration initiatives, including NSF EPSCoR Computational Chemistry Cluster, NSF CREST Computational Center for Molecular Structure and Interactions, the Army’s High Performance Computing Research Center and the DOD High Performance Computing Modernization Program, and possesses the program-management experience, research depth, and critical national/international relationships needed to build and maintain the following objectives of the Applied Computational Sciences / High Performance Computing Cluster.

Cluster Objectives

   
    1. Educating and training students in the applied computational sciences and in supercomputing at the baccalaureate and doctoral levels.    
    2. Enhancing the level of competitive computational research and computer infrastructure in the state of Mississippi.    
    3. Attracting and retaining qualified new research faculty in the state.    
    4. Developing and extending partnerships with federal and industrial laboratories (NSF, NIH, DOD, DOE).    
    5. Strengthening national and international collaborations in the field of computational sciences with faculty on other campuses.    
    6. Integrating outreach and education to attract promising young students
