The Cleopatra D. Thompson Curriculum Center, located in Room 314 of the Joseph H. Jackson College of Education Building, is designed to provide a variety of multi-media resources to support the programs of the College. The Center houses materials that assist in-service teachers with resources for Pre K - 12 classrooms. The Center has a collection of instructional materials and equipment including educational games and kits, filmstrips, video tapes, cassette tapes, computers, computer software, posters, and other multi-media equipment. Recently, special appropriations were allocated to completely upgrade holing of elementary and secondary textbooks, literature from various countries, and a variety or resources used by candidates in all academic departments. Special collections were acquired in support of all areas of the Responsive Educator Model. The Center is further designed to provide:

A number of the educational journals housed in the Curriculum Center are in microfiche form. A new microfiche reader/printer, that use xerox paper, has been added to the Center. Patrons may now print current journal articles for ten cents per page.


The employing of a graduate student for evening hours has made the Center more assessable. The Center is now open on Monday and Tuesday until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday and Thursday until 6:00 p.m.
