We appreciate your interest in the Department of School, Community and Rehabilitation Counseling (SCRC). In support of the University's Mission, we maintain a commitment to effectively serve students from diverse academic, social, economic, ethnic and geographic backgrounds, and to further develop responsible leaders who are capable and willing to seek solutions to human social and technological problems.

The Department trains competent field practitioners skilled to work in schools, community agencies, medical and rehabilitation settings. Our goal is to support your professional growth and academic development. Department's faculty are committed to excellence in teaching and are actively involved in research, scholarly activities and community service. Students in our Department are also encouraged to become actively involved in research and scholarly activities through presentations at educational forums and professional conferences and presentations.

Our student organization, Chi Sigma Iota Beta Omicron Chapter, is very active in research and community service.
SCRC is recognized as one of the top five graduate master's program's at Jackson State University. We provide a wide variety of teaching-learning experiences including practicum and internship with external agencies, innovative classroom instruction and structured laboratory activities.
