Courses
Both School counseling programs are housed within the College of Education
and Human Development which is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation
of Teacher Education (NCATE). In addition, the Department offers a program
leading to certification in psychometry.
Program Objectives
In support of its mission, the department prepares masters and
specialist level students for careers in professional counseling. The Specific
objectives of the department are to prepare students to :
1. Acquire the professional skills necessary to become professional counselors
2. Obtain certification in school counseling or school psychometry, and
3. Upgrade their certification and /or skill level in counseling.
