Student Organization

The name of the organization is Chi Sigma Iota, which is an international counseling and professional honor society. The chapter at Jackson State University is Beta Omicron Chapter, and it accepts members who are graduate counseling majors with a GPA of at least 3.5 or above. The mission statement of the organization is as follows:

To promote scholarship, research, professionalism, and excellence in counseling, and to recognize the high attainment in
the pursuit of academic and clinical excellence in the counseling field. This is to be an ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL HONOR SOCIETY with the headquarters located at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and with chapters located at participating institutions of higher education throughout the world.
