James Maddirala is the former Associate Provost and Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Life over a decade with five Provosts and Vice President of Academic Affairs. He earned his B.S. from Andhra Christian College, Andhra University, his MA from Madras Christian College, Madras University, and his MS and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Oregon. In his former position he responded to issues relating to all academic Ayers programs, Vision 2020 (i.e. JSU’s academic strategic and reorganization plan), academic program review, and he use to act as the liaison between the Office of Academic Affairs and the following units: the Office of Research and Federal Relations, the Division of Informational Technology, the JSU Division of International Programs, the JSU Division of Graduate Studies, the JSU Library and Information Service, and the Commissioner’s Office of Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL). Dr. Maddirala also functioned as the University Chief Diversity Officer, and the Executive Director of the Global-World HIV/AIDS Alliance (GHAA).
