Fire and Life Safety


Operation and maintenance of all fire security systems is the responsibility of the Department of Facilities & Construction Management. In case of auxiliaries, the Department of Facilities & Construction Management maintains fire safety equipment on a reimbursement basis.

The purpose of any Fire and Life Safety is to determine what standards, violations, and hazards might exist on the unviersity.

  • Hazardous Materials
  • Fire Smoke Alarms
  • Fire Pumps
  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Fire Alarm Stations
  • Sprinklers


Fire Safety Tips

Fire can spread incredibly fast. A good, working smoke detector should alert you in time to get out. Don’t try to fight the fire or round up valuables, just get out of the area, call Campus police @ 601-979-2580 and stay out. Campus Police will immediately contact the Fire Department and the Facility Alert Manager.
