Except
for auxiliaries, the procurement, operation and maintenance of all
fire security systems is the responsibility of the Department of Facilities & Construction
Management. Fire Safety equipment includes fire extinguishers, smoke
alarms, fire alarm stations, etc. In case of auxiliaries, the Department
of Facilities & Construction Management maintains fire safety equipment on a reimbursement
basis.
Fire Safety Tips
Fire
can spread incredibly fast. A good, working smoke detector should
alert you in time to get out. Don’t try to fight the fire or
round up valuables, just get out of the area, call 911 and stay out!
In Residence
Halls
• When the alarm sounds, GET OUT!
• Follow the rules-no candles, no hot plates
• Prevent false alarms-burned popcorn is the No.1 cause!
• Don’t overload extension cords
