In the event of inclement weather (tornado, hurricane) students, faculty, and staff are to immediately get to
a designated area of refuge. These areas are if possible the basements of a building however, if a basement
is not available, the first floor hallway(s) of a building are considered an Area of Refuge and individuals are get
there as soon as possible.
The following are areas of refuge:
*Alexander Hall First Floor hallway (s) (inner areas,not near lobby)
*John Dixon Hall First Floor hallway (s) (inner areas,not near lobby)
*Stewart Hall First Floor hallway (s)
*McAllister/Whiteside First Floor hallway (s) (inner areas, not near lobby)
*Transitional Hall First Floor (s) (inner areas)
*Campbell College First Floor (s) (inner areas)
*Sampson Library Basement
*Just Science First Floor hallway (s) (inner areas, not near windows)
*B.F. Roberts Bottom Floor (inner areas)
*C.F. Moore First Floor (s) (not near windows)
*Jones/Sampson First Floor Hallways (not near the Lobbies)
*John A. Peoples First/bottom floor (inner area, not by the doors)
*F.D. Music Hall First Floor hallway (s) (inner areas, not near the lobby)
*Liberal Arts First Floor hallway (s) (inner areas, not near lobbies, or foyer)
*College of Business First Floor hallway (s) (inner areas, not near lobbies, or foyer)
