The signature course University Success 100/101 is among its offerings. Students engage in a battery of assessments, complete the general education core and participate in academic and student life activities.
New Student Orientation and Welcome Week Activities
The mission of New Student Orientation and Welcome Week Activities is to provide students with a comprehensive and personal introduction to Jackson State University thereby easing their transition to collegiate life. Students participate in a first year assessment, academic advising, and registration. They also learn about campus resources, and involvement opportunities at the university. FYE students have the opportunity to meet with university administrators, professional and faculty advisors, staff, and other first year students. To ensure a great beginning at a great institution, attendance is required for all new students who wish to register before classes begin.
