Clearance Process: Specialist in Education
Congratulations…
you are nearing the end of your specialist degree career at Jackson
State
University.
The '
On-line Graduate Clearance'
process is completed in the semester you plan to graduate. Dates
are published on the Graduate School Website

Basic Requirements
The following are basic requirements for all specialist degree students:
- Completion of the Degree Plan via a Degree Evaluation in PAWS.
- Completed the required semester hours of course work with a ‘B’
average.
- Completion of all departmental requirements. (see Graduate
Catalog or Departmental Handbook)
- Removal of all Incomplete (I) Grades.
- Completion of the Application
for Graduate Degree Candidacy.
At this time you should..
- Conduct a degree evaluation with your advisor. If you have
changed your course of study you may need to revise your plan of study
or a complete a Course Substitution Form.
- Review the "Guidelines for the Submitting the Specialist
Thesis/Project".
- Schedule your Thesis/Project Defense.
NOTE: The
graduation clearance process is ONLY good for the semester
indicated.
If you DO NOT
graduate, you will need to redo the on-line process.
