The Graduate English Competency Examination, commonly referred to as the "GECE", is required of all first time master-level students at Jackson State University. It is designed to show the strengths and weaknesses of each student in the areas of grammar and usage, logic, organization and content. It is expected that students take the GECE during their first semester of enrollment.
(1) Take the Practice Exam. The practice examination consists of 20 multiple choice questions developed by faculty and graduate students in the Department of English and Modern Foreign Language. Click here to access the practice examination
