Application for Graduation
Congratulations… you are nearing the end of your
masters' degree career at Jackson State University.The Application for Graduation, (FORM III) is filed early in the semester you plan to graduate. Dates are published on the Graduate School Website (Click here for Dates)
Basic Requirements
The following are basic requirements for all masters' degree students:
- Completion of the Degree Plan via a Degree Evaluation in PAWS
- Completed the required semester hours of course work with a ‘B’ average.
- Completion of all departmental
requirements. (see Graduate
Catalog or Departmental Handbook)
- Removal of all Incomplete (I) Grades.
- Completion of GECE requirement.
- Completion of the Application for Graduate Degree Candidacy.
At this time you should..
- Conduct a degree evaluation with your advisor. If you have changed your course of study you may need to revise your plan of study or a complete Course Substitution Form.
- If applicable:
- Review the "Guidelines for the
Preparing the Masters' Thesis" or "Guidelines for
Preparing the Masters' Project".
- Schedule your Thesis or Project Defense, click here for Dates and Deadlines.
COMPLETE THIS FORM WITH YOUR ADVISOR
- Name and Current Address, the form will be mailed to this address.
- If applicable, indicate the date the Graduate Area Comprehensive Examination was taken or will be taken. (Click here for an application).
- If applicable, list title of your Thesis or Project (Click here for a Committee Approval Form).
- Approval Signatures: Student, Advisor, Department Chair/Graduate Program Director, Academic College Dean or designee, and the Dean of the Division of Graduate Studies.
NOTE: The Application for Graduation is ONLY good for the semester indicated.
If you DO NOT graduate, you will need to file this form again.
