Testing, Placement & Curriculum

A placement test is administered to new ESL students on Thursday the week before the first week of clases. Testing helps place the students at the appropriate ESL level based on the results. The Written Placement Test is a multiple choice 50-minute test with 70 questions to assess proficiency in listening, reading, and language use. The Placement Conversation is a 10-minute oral interview to assess the speaking ability. Writing assessment will be conducted if necessary.
