Founding Faculty | Core Faculty | Board of Directors | Staff

Many individuals have contributed to the success and continuing growth of the Hamer Institute. The founding faculty members are a diverse, multi-racial group of historians and political scientists committed to broadening our society’s awareness and understanding of social justice, civil rights, and participatory democracy. All founding faculty members are still involved in annual program activities.

Core faculty members assist in administrative and planning roles when needed, and make significant contributions to the academic content of Hamer Insitute programs. Several have been involved with the Institute since its inception; others have more recently become involved through jointly-sponsored programs.

The Hamer Institute’s board of directors provides a valuable network for identifying historical, educational, and financial resources to enhance our program offerings. Several board members are experts in their respective fields and often participate as speakers at Hamer Institute events.

Last but not least, our staff handles many of the administrative responsibilities of the Institute, including grant proposal writing, program coordination, and general promotion of Hamer Institute activities.
