During the semester, your roommate may decide to move off campus, or to another room within the residence hall. This means a space is available in your room. If we are unable to assign another person to fill the open space, it becomes necessary for students to consolidate who do not have roommates if they do not wish to pay a single room fee. Two choices are available for residents: move into another room or another resident may move into the room with you.
All students who are in single rooms and have not requested a single room will be given an opportunity to obtain a roommate and consolidate on their own. The residence hall staff is available to answer questions and assist you in obtaining another roommate. A list of other students occupying double rooms as single rooms will be available at the desk of each residence hall.
In the event that you do not obtain a roommate on your own, the Community Director will consolidate you with another student. At check in time each application is stamped with a number and date. Students with the highest number will be asked to move. If the student refuses to move, a charge of single room rate will be attached to their business office account.
