Summer 2019 Academic Year Application Procedures

 

Important Housing Information

*The housing application for the first session is closed. If you would like to be housed for the first summer session, please visit the Housing Office or contact us at 601.979.2326 or via email at housinginfo@jsums.edu.

ATTENTION: The Summer 2019 housing application for new and returning students will be available beginning April 1, 2019, until May 24, 2019, for the first session and June 10, 2019, until July 12, 2019, for the second session. All new students (first-time freshmen and first-time transfers) who have not already paid for Fall 2019 must pay a $100 non-refundable housing application fee before your application is processed. All returning students, including readmits, who have not already paid for Fall 2019 must pay a $75 room reservation fee before your application is processed.

Only the following residence halls will be used for Summer 2019 Housing: Dixon Hall, McAllister-Whiteside Hall, and Transitional Hall.

Summer 2019 Housing Rate: $403.50 per session; $807.00 for the entire summer.

 

Announcements

  • JSU Summer Move-In Day for students attending the first summer session begins at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 27, 2019. Students attending the second summer session will be allowed to move-in at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2019.
  • The Fall housing application for New and Transfer Students opened on March 18, 2019, at 9:00 a.m. and will close on June 30, 2019, at 5:00 p.m. The Returning Student housing application closed on Friday, March 15, 2019, at 5:00 p.m.
  • All students must check out for the Spring semester on Saturday, May 4, 2019, by 5:00 p.m. 
  • JSU Fall Move-In Day 2019 for all new and transfer students is August 10, 2019.
  • All housing inquiries should be sent to: housinginfo@jsums.edu.
  • The $100 non-refundable housing application processing fee for New/Transfer students must be paid before a room assignment will be issued. The $75 non-refundable room reservation fee for Returning students must be paid before a room assignment will be issued.

 Cancellation Policy

  • If you wish to cancel your housing assignment, you may do so by e-mailing housinginfo@jsums.edu with the following statement: "I (insert first name, last name, and J Number) wish to cancel my housing for the Summer 2019 academic year." Please indicate if you wish to cancel one or both terms.

  • All cancellation requests must be in writing.

 


Eligibility

You must be an accepted full-time student (enrolled in 3 or more credits ) or be a full-time graduate student to receive an offer of housing. Graduate status is verified through the Graduate School.

Students in any of the below categories are eligible to submit a housing request.

  • Medically re-admitted JSU students
  • First-year students new to JSU for Summer 2019
  • Transfer students coming to JSU directly from another college
  • Re-admitted JSU students
  • International students transferring to JSU
  • JSU students living off-campus

Offers are made on a space-available basis. Please check your JSU email frequently for important housing information. 

 

How to Apply

Both new and returning students will access the new housing application by following the steps below:

*To avoid login issues, please activate your NetId in your JSU PAWS account before attempting to log into "THD: JSU Housing Self-Service."

1. Visit your JSU PAWS account and select "Enter Secure Area."

2. Enter your J# (ex. J00000000) and Pin #, which is defaulted as your birthdate (ex. 010118).

3. Select the "Student" tab at the top of the page. Then, select the "Housing" link.

4. After selecting the "Housing" link, you will select, "THD: JSU Housing Self-Service."

5. After selecting "THD: JSU Housing Self-Service," you will be directed to the THD Housing Self-Service Portal

    where you will need to enter your login information.

6. Your login information will be as follows: 

     Username: one\J# (ex. one\J00000000)

     Password: NetID (Must set-up in your PAWS account)

7. You will be directed to your own personal Student Housing Portal. Once there, you will select "Apps & Forms,"

    then select the housing application for your classification and proper term.

8. You will be directed to agree to the "Terms and Conditions" by signing your name and clicking "Continue."

9. After clicking "Continue," you will proceed to answer all questions.

10. You will be then directed to The JSU Marketplace to pay your specified housing fee, $100 non-refundable housing application fee or $75 room reservation fee.

11. Your final step will be paying your fee. Please note that your housing application will not be processed without receiving payment, if applicable.

Once the Assignments process begins, your room assignments will be updated in your THD Student Housing Portal.
