I am Sandra Sellers, Director of Human Resources at Jackson State University in Jackson, MS. Being a part of this staff has special significance for me, highlighted by the fact I am a JSU graduate. As such, I know first hand the tradition and legacy that distinguishes Jackson State University which includes the quality of education provided and the caliber of students produced across all disciplines. I am truly excited to be a part of the continued growth of the University, which is quite apparent when you enter the campus. There are great things happening all around, and those of us who work in Human Resources are proud to be a contributor to the overall mission and goals that have been set forth.
As Director of Human Resources, I am committed to ensuring prompt quality service is delivered by the Human Resources staff to all JSU faculty and staff, and other individuals who request our services in the performance of our jobs. This includes all areas of Human Resource processing, i.e. Employment; Employee Benefits; Payroll and Personnel Input; Employee Relations; Risk Management; Workers Compensation; and Staff Training and Development. Our goal is to provide service in a professional manner.
Over the upcoming months, we will review all internal processes in the Office of Human Resources to ensure they meet the needs of our customers. This will include the elimination of some existing processes and the introduction of new, more customer focused processes. We are positioning ourselves to play a prominent role in the continued success of Jackson State University.
It is said, “To whom much is given much is required.” We gladly accept the challenge in the Office of Human Resources.
