In an attempt to increase the recruitment and retention of academically talented graduate students who are interested in transportation fields, the Civil and Environmental
Engineering Department at Jackson State University will award an assistantship in each of the next four years to a graduate student to participate in a long term
study of paving fabric systems to reduce reflective cracking.
This project identified one graduate student (Bradnado Turnquest), and awarded an assistantship. The student participated in the construction monitoring process of the
project in August 2007. The construction monitoring included the quality control of the installation of paving fabric systems. It is expected that the student prepare a construction
report indicating the lessons learned.
