International Bazaar


Parade of Flags

The parade of flags begins at 9:00 a.m. at the Lee E. Williams Athletic and Assembly Center and culminates on the Gibbs-Green Pedestrian Plaza. Participants include the Jackson State University Army ROTC Color Guard, Jackson State University Marching Band Percussion Section, Jackson State University international students and students from participating K-12 area schools.

International Bazaar Activities

The International Bazaar will occur on the Gibbs-Green Pedestrian Plaza at Jackson State University. Students will present their exhibitions from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Also, there will be several other activities:

  • International Fashion Show
  • Cultural Games
  • Door Prizes
  • International Music
  • International Doll Collection
  • Cultural Exhibits Displays
  • American Gospel Songs
  • Food & Other Vendors
  • Special Event

Previous Countries Exhibited: Australia, Bahamas, Brazil, Canada, China, Columbia, Djibouti, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, Germany, India, Iraq, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Kuwait, Libya, Mali, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, Peru, Russia, St Lucia, South Africa and the United Kingdom.

The tentative participating JSU Departments and student clubs are Department of Music, Department of Chemistry, Department of Military Science, Graduate Studies, Undergraduate Studies, JSU Bookstore, JSU Dazzlers, China Initiatives, Latasha Norman Center for Counseling and Disability, Pierian Society, Campus Police, WJSU Radio Station, Department of Speech Communications and JSU Student Life.
