JSU ADVANCE congratulates Dr. Carolyn Howard for receiving one of the 2014 Presidential Creative Awards for Faculty and Staff!  Dr. Howard, an associate professor of biology and participant in JSU ADVANCE activities and programs, received a $5,000 grant to facilitate research collaboration with Dr. Shehla Pervin, an assistant professor at Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science.  Drs. Howard and Pervin are investigating the impact of a treatment derived from the vernonia amygdalina plant on mammary cancer stem cells in mice.
