Théodore Bouabré was born in Côte d' Ivoire ( Ivory Coast ), West Africa . He received his Master's degree in English Literature from the University of Abidjan , Côte d'Ivoire , and a doctoral degree in Anglophone Literatures from the University of Lille , France . He has traveled extensively in France , England , visited Belgium and Germany . Théodore Bouabré got a Ph D. in Comparative literature from Indiana University , with minors in French and African Studies. The topic of his Ph.D. dissertation is Magical Realism in the Novels of the Black World . His areas of interest are African Literatures and Cultures, African American and Caribbean Literatures as well as Comparative Arts.
