Crisis Prevention Resource (CPR)

Jackson State University’s Metro Jackson Community Prevention Coalition in collaboration with the Latasha Norman Center for Counseling & Psychological Services has implemented the Crisis Prevention Resource (CPR) Project. CPR is designed to prevent suicide attempts and completions through a comprehensive approach which is designed to enhance the infrastructure of mental health service, suicide prevention, and crisis management on Jackson State University’s campus. JSU CPR Staff was instrumental in training over 3,629 individuals with the Question, Persusde, Refer and other evidenced based suicide prevention curriculum. The CPR Suicide Prevention Project has reduced stigma and instituted help-seeking behaviors campus wide.
