Music Department Administrative Assistant
Anissa Hampton, mother of one, was born Anissa Renee’ Hampton to the proud parents of Charles and Anita Hampton in Chicago, IL. Anissa spent her early childhood years in Chicago, IL before moving back down south to Jackson, Mississippi. She attended Raines Elementary School, Hardy Middle School, and Provine High School where she was a choir member in 1987-1990 and is also a 1990 graduate.
While attending Tougaloo College in the early 1990’s, she traveled with several renowned directors and opera singers such as the internationally renowned artist Grace Bumbry. Today Anissa sings all genres of music in her spare time.
Anissa has been the Administrative Assistant in the Department of Music at Jackson State University for seven years now. She is currently enrolled at Jackson State University pursuing a Master’s Degree in Technology Education with a 3.4 GPA and has already received a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Interdisciplinary Studies in the College of Lifelong Learning in May 2011. She helps and assists with the Jackson State University Marching Band “Sonic Boom of the South” and she is a member of Rho Iota Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated.
She attends Jackson Revival Center Church over 30 years under the pastorship of Ms. Jennifer Biard, daughter of the late Dr. Raymond O. Biard.
