Camp Tiger Tails is a 5-week summer day camp to increase awareness of maintaining a social and healthy lifestyle in our grade school children of the Metro-Jackson, MS Community. Our comprehensive wellness program targets youth ages 5 to 17 in physical activity, structured recreation, social development, and nutrition education at the Walter Payton Recreation and Wellness Center at Jackson State University.
Age-appropriate yet challenging, this wellness program features physical activity, structured recreation, social development and nutrition education. It is designed to combat poor diet habits and a lack of exercise — two major factors in Mississippi’s child obesity rate. Entertaining games, trips and events, set in a welcoming atmosphere, are led by a staff of devoted teachers and counselors.
