Assessment: The assessment rubric will be determined with input from the students, once the rubric is determined and understood.  The assessment will determine the extent which students understand the sense of community that Welty and Alexander espoused.

In addition to these activities, the students were placed into groups of four students each.  They role played and dressed as Eudora Welty and Margaret Walker Alexander.  The role playing really got them into the characters portrayed by Welty and Alexander.  It also helped them to appreciate the literary contributions that Welty and Alexander made to the world.

The $150 stipend for supplies made a tremendous difference.  The money was used to buy copies of the works by Welty and Alexander which our library did not have with the exception of Jubilee.
