Happy July 4th!

July 3rd, 2012 by andisites

Tomorrow we will celebrate July 4th, our Independence Day as a country.  It is quite fitting to celebrate significant achievements like the creation of our country, as we have come so far in 236 years.  Enjoy the family time together with cookouts everywhere and firework celebrations.

Jackson State University just finished the 2012 academic year, and what a year it has been!  We have a great deal to celebrate.  You will hear a lot more about the successes of the past year, which include a record enrollment and significant fundraising success.  More importantly, everyone involved with the JSU family has made a difference, and I salute you for your assistance to make JSU a great university.

For the staff and faculty, one way I can provide a little more recognition is to let you off today at 2 p.m. so that you can enjoy time with your family and friends.  This excludes faculty teaching classes today. Classes will be held as scheduled. Essential personnel, and you know who you are, must complete your normal hours.  Take time to celebrate with your special ones and let’s begin anew to have a record-breaking year in 2013.  Enjoy!
