JSU bell-ringing service

December 18th, 2012 by jacksonstate

Dear JSU Family and Friends:

As we each prepare for the upcoming holiday, I am sure that you join me in being heartbroken about the recent tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut.  Likewise, among our respective circles of friends and acquaintances are those who have suffered losses due to violence.  As caring individuals, I know that each of you will reach out in some way to those in our local communities, our nation, and the world who are experiencing sadness during this holiday season.

To honor Jackson State University’s core value and tradition of nurturing, the University’s bell will ring at 10 a.m. tomorrow December 19, 2012.  The bell will ring twenty-six times as we pray for

“Peace on earth and goodwill to all.”

Please pause wherever you are and join us at the bell in front of Ayer Hall tomorrow in remembrance of those all of us have lost and in reinforcing to each other and to the world that the JSU family cares.
