(JACKSON, Miss.) - Jackson State University Department of Urban and Regional Planning Ph.D. student Jeanne Mogusu has been appointed to the Transportation Research Board's Committee on Metropolitan Policy, Planning and Processes.
Mogusu will serve a three-year period beginning April 15.
Based in Washington, D.C., the Transportation Research Board is a division of the National Research Council, a private, nonprofit institution that provides expertise in science and technology to the government, the public and the scientific and engineering communities. The NRC is jointly administered by the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering and the Institute of Medicine.
"I am honored and excited about the opportunity to interact with other transportation professionals as we make meaningful contributions to the field of transportation planning through research," Mogusu said. "Jackson State's Department of Urban and Regional Planning has been very supportive in my academic growth."
Mogusu is a Dwight D. Eisenhower Transportation Research Fellow. She received her master's degree in public policy and administration from Jackson State University and her bachelor's degree from Egerton University in Kenya.
