The JSU Observatory is a research based facility that has been completely rebuilt and retooled. Constructed over 40 years ago, it now contains a Meade LX 200R 14” telescope. Twelve feet in diameter, it has a FL-ING 10001E Fingerlakes FL-ING 1001E CCD camera. ACP software provides unattended remote control of the Observatory. The JSU Observatory software has the capacity to network with others in the United States and the international scientific community in Chile, South Africa, France, China, Australia and Japan. This capability enables day-time viewing of the night-time sky from other parts of the planet.
