College of Public Service Remembers Officer Richard Polk

The College of Public Service (CPS) and the Jackson Medical Mall Foundation (JMMF) paid tribute to Officer Richard Polk. According to the JMMF, Officer Polk was a retired JPD officer and JMMF security officer, who lost his life on Saturday, June 7, 2014. Officer Polk was employed with JMMF since August 2013.
The family of Officer Polk was welcomed to a dinner prior to the Family Hour on Friday, June 13, 2014, in JSU's School of Health Sciences lobby. Dr. Ricardo Brown, Dean of the College offered condolences on behalf of the College of Public Service Family. He shared with the family how Officer Polk graciously served the CPS employees. He reflected on how Officer Polk would patiently wait on CPS employees to exit the building before he closed the gate at 6:00 p.m.. Officer Polk will truly be missed by the College of Public Service family.
