The Institute for Educational Renewal (INFER) is an academic
support unity designed to help JSU meet thte educational needs of all learners, prenatal
through adulthood, and their families. INFER's program is interdisciplinary,
multi-faceted and dedicated to accomplishing its goals through outreach and collaboration,
research and evaluation, program development, mentoring, technical assistance, and sharing
with diverse learning communities. The mission of INFER is to improve the quality of
life for all learners through the accomlishment of three major goals:
1. Secure, coordinate and direct
human, material and financial resources to solving the educational problems affecting all
learners.
2. Conduct, translate and
disseminate to nonprofit communities research findings which support educational
improvement.
3. Collaborate with other
professionals, agencies, organizations, parents and policy-makers to promote proven
educational strategies, products, practices, and services.
