Academic Information Technology identifies and builds upon applications of technology to educational and research activities. Areas of emphasis are technology integration in classrooms and academic departments, open-access computer laboratories, accreditation evaluations and campus audiovisual and e-mail support.

The Center promotes undergraduate research by providing mini-grants to faculty serve as research mentors to undergraduate students and engage those students in faculty-led research projects.

JSUOnline provides support to faculty designing, implementing and teaching courses in online or hybrid formats. JSU utilizes the Blackboard e-learning system. It also provides foundational and advanced workshops for optimizing Blackboard, use of general Internet-based tools and other tutorials (e.g. Qualtrics and ETS Criterion).
