Travel Grants

Application

In order to be eligible for travel grants, one must be a full-time faculty member at Jackson State University. The deadlines for travel through the fall term of 2007 have expired. In order to apply for travel in the Spring 2008 or Summer 2008 terms; complete and return the travel application to the Center.

Effective April 2005, in cases where a paper is to be presented, the full paper must be submitted to the Center two weeks prior to travel. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of the award. (The Center encourages applications from persons who have not received travel funds in the last two years.) Please note that the application now requires the signature of the department chair, dean or other unit director.

Deadlines

The deadline for fall/winter travel (i.e. travel by February 15, 2008) has lapsed. January 25, 2008 is the deadline for spring travel grant applications (for travel between February 16, 2008 and May 31, 2008). May 15, 2008 is the deadline for summer travel grant applications (for travel between June 1, 2008 and September 30, 2008). Awards are made on a rolling basis prior to deadlines so early application is encouraged.
