The Jackson State University Cheerleaders/Tumblers acts as ambassadors for the Jackson State University Tigers in numerous activities each year. They represent the University at many charitable and public relations' events.

The J.S.U. Cheer Program is comprised of Jackson State Students who support J.S.U. Athletic teams such as Football, Basketball, Volleyball, as well as making public appearances and community service events. They cheer all home and away football games, all home volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball games. Each spring the cheerleaders also take part in various cheer competitions and events. The JSU Cheer program consists of a two squads this year, Blue and White Squad. The Blue Squad consists of 16-20 selected males and females that range from incoming freshmen to seniors of Jackson State. They cheer for all away and home football games and men’s basketball. The White Squad consists of 9 – 12 selected males and females. They cheer for all home football, volleyball and women’s basketball games. Tryouts are in early spring and mid-summer. J.S.U. Cheerleading team travels to all away football games and post season conference championships and tournaments. The cheerleaders have traveled to some of the nation's premier sporting events including NCAA basketball tournaments. All travel expenses including meals, hotel and airfare are provided by the university.
