The President and Vice President are two Chief Executive officers of the SGA. They along with other members of the Executive Branch are charged with the implementation of the President’s plan of action as well as the enforcement all policies as stated in the SGA Constitution and By-Laws. This branch provides stellar leadership to the SGA, class constituency councils and the student body at JSU.

As the Student Government Association Chief Justice for the 2008-2009 academic year, I welcome you to Jackson State University.
The Judicial Branch of the Student Government Association consists of five members whose main function is to preside over all student hearings and serve as the student advocate in disciplinary charges. We work in conjunction with the Office of Judicial Affairs and the Associate Dean for Student Development.
We also hold several informational forums throughout the school year and speak to various classes about the judicial process. If you have questions regarding the judicial process you can reference the student handbook in the student life section of the Jackson State University Web Site, contact the Office of Judicial Affairs, or email the Judicial Council at sgajustice@jsums.edu.

The Legislative Branch is the Senate. All powers are vested in the Senate. The Senate is composed of eighteen (18) voting senators, two senators from each of the five constituent student activity council and two from each class. The Vice President of the SGA serves as President of the Senate. The Legislative Council meets every 1 st and 3 rd Monday of each month.
