Meet the Director

As the Director of Faith Based Programming and Development at Jackson State University, Dr. Aaron B. Banks coordinates the wide array of ministries sought by students and their parents, faculty, staff, and the wider community; participates in religious services and public programs; and serves as the liaison between the University and religious organizations at the local, national, and international levels.

Dr. Aaron B. Banks has initiated programs, which have fostered interfaith dialogue and religious tolerance, at Jackson State University. He launched and is the project Director of the Spiritual Ethical Leadership Initiative (SELI) at Jackson State University. During Dr. Banks administration, there has been a revitalization of creative religious programming that has made the Division Of Student Life Campus Ministries the Center for religious and spiritual programming and development in the Greater Jackson Area. The Campus Ministries weekly bible service known as PHAT (Prayer, Healing, Accountability and Teaching) challenges the moral values of students and develops their maturity through life application teachings of the Bible.

Dr. Aaron B. Banks is the Founder & Pastor of Abundant Spirit Ministries Christian Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Under the dynamic leadership of Pastor Banks, ASMCC has established an effective evangelistic ministry and Christian Center that provides empowerment, mobilization, reconciliation, healing and deliverance for God’s people since its founding in 2000.  Dr. Banks has attended Jackson State University, Wesley Biblical Seminary, Battlefield Baptist Institute, and Ashwood University where he has matriculated through education and training to receive a Doctorate of Divinity from Ashwood University.  Dr. Aaron Banks has been Ordained and Affirmed by Bishop T.D. Jakes in the fall of 2002 and is a proud member of PHIPA (Potters House Pastoral Alliance) where he serves as a spiritual son to Bishop T.D. Jakes.
