Jackson State University’s Pan Hellenic Council is an affiliate of the National Pan Hellenic Council, which includes the nation’s largest nine historically black fraternities and sororities. Of the nine organizations, Jackson State has six (6) active chapters, three Inactive chapter (Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. - Delta Delta Chapter, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. - Alpha Tau Chapter and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. - Upsilon Epsilon Chapter).
JSU’s Pan Hellenic Council coordinates activities among its member organizations and encourages comity between the members of its organizations. It annually sponsors an MIP Forum for New Students, Black and White Ball, Homecoming Greek Show, JSU Pan Hellenic Council Book Scholarship for entering freshmen, the Mandatory MIP conference the first Friday in December, the Greek Image Awards, and the Spring Membership Intake Program events in addition to community service projects throughout the year.
