Project PAMMS is designed to improve the achievement of middle school students by strengthening the mathematical content and pedagogical skills of teachers. The summer program examines selected middle school mathematics topics and pedagogical strategies as applied to mathematics. The summer program builds a strong foundation in mathematics content through a discovery hands-on approach. The goals of the program are to provide teachers with strategies, lesson plans, technology training and encouragements that can be used in the mathematics classroom to enhance the learning of mathematics as well as to introduce teachers to current research findings and best practices in the teaching or mathematics, and to assist mathematics teachers in indentifying the most appropriate and productive strategies to use in teaching middle school students.
